Kindergarten Readiness Tutoring Program for Preschoolers
Raleigh Tutoring’s Preschool Tutoring Program gives your child the foundation needed for success in Elementary School and beyond. Children between the ages of three and six are eligible for participation. Our tutors are certified teachers and our curriculum is hands-on and fun!
We work closely with parents to help build the foundation for success and confidence in school with an emphasis on developing a lifetime love of learning.
The skills taught in our curriculum reflect the National Early Literacy Panel Report, the Head Start Child Outcomes Framework, and national and North Carolina curriculum standards. Our focus of instruction is literacy and mathematics, but we can also tailor instruction to fit your child’s needs in five areas of instruction:

Our Tutors:
Our Kindergarten Readiness tutors are certified teachers. As a result, they excel at what they do. They not only teach fundamental reading and writing skills, they also encourage, coach, challenge, and provide feedback to students and their parents.
Scheduling and Age Requirements:
Children between the ages of three (by August 31, 2010) and six are eligible for participation. Parents choose the days and the times for tutoring. Tutors are available in the morning, afternoons, and evenings, during the week and on the weekends.
The Process:
Based on his or her needs and personality, your child will be matched with a tutor. At the first session, the tutor will get to know your child and conduct a short initial assessment comparable to the kindergarten entry assessment.
The tutor will plan fun, hands-on lesson plans for your child or your child’s group. Expect the lessons to include books, manipulatives, games, movement, music, and art. You will receive take-home learning plans to complete with your child.
When your child completes the program, he or she will be given a post-assessment to measure growth and plan for future goals.

Comprehensive Plan
- Covers all five areas of instruction with focus on literacy and mathematics

- Expert advice from an elementary school teacher on what to work on with your child to prepare him or her for school
Cost:
One-on-one tutoring is $45/hour. You may also create a group of up to five children for a discounted rate. Your group chooses the days and times for tutoring.
The cost for the assessment and advice is $67.50 for two 30-minute sessions.
